EVENT PARTICIPATION WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I understand that participation in this event involves physical activity and inherent risks. I voluntarily choose to participate and assume full responsibility for any injury, accident, illness, or other health-related condition that may occur as a result of my participation or while I am on the event premises.

I hereby release, waive, and hold harmless the event organizers, sponsors, promoters, the event production company, City Cruisers Cycling Friends, Inc. and all other persons or entities associated with this event, including their officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, successors, and assigns, from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, or liability arising out of or related to my participation, to the fullest extent permitted by Texas law.

I confirm that I am physically able to participate safely and have no condition that would prevent my participation.

I grant permission for photographs, video, or other recordings taken during the event to be used for lawful promotional or informational purposes without compensation.

I acknowledge that the City of Brownsville is a sponsor of this event and I release and hold harmless the City of Brownsville, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims or liability related to my participation.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL CONSENT

In the event of an accident or medical emergency, I authorize the event organizers and their representatives to obtain or provide emergency medical treatment for me, including transportation to a medical facility if deemed necessary. I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs incurred and that this waiver applies to any such medical treatment provided.

MINOR PARTICIPANTS

If the participant is under 18 years of age, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor participant. I consent to the minor’s participation in this event and agree to all terms of this waiver on behalf of the minor, including the emergency medical consent and the release of all parties named above to the fullest extent permitted by Texas law.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND SIGNATURE

I understand that by agreeing to this document, I am giving up certain legal rights. I have read this waiver, understand its contents, and sign it voluntarily. This release is binding upon me and my heirs, personal representatives, successors, and assigns.

I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers or strollers, roller skates, inline skates, and animals are not permitted in the race. I agree to abide by all race rules and to respect the decisions of race officials.
